My dear uncle, Joe, has spent decades caring for others as a Community-Based Residential Facility Coordinator caregiver and paramedic. His commitment to helping others has touched many!
Now, he needs our help. He was hospitalized after complications with pneumonia led to a series of severe health setbacks including lung scarring, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary embolism.
The financial strain on Joe and his wife, Jan, is overwhelming. We're rallying together to help. Your donation will make an important difference in his journey to recovery. Funds raised will be for:
- Home Adaptations ($7,100): Various updates for when Joe returns home (ex: air filters, lift bed, safety rails, bathroom updates and more)
- Ambulance Fees ($600): For fees to Froedtert Hospital from Joe’s home in Ripon, WI
- Lost Wages ($12,000): Both Joe and Jan have had to take unpaid leave from work to focus on Joe's recovery
- Acute Long-Term Care Co-Pays ($4,000): Joe will need to spend ~20 days above what Medicare will cover in recovery
- ICU Stay Deductible ($4,000): To cover the hospital stay deductible for his time at Froedtert
