Joe’s Recovery Fund

On October 28th, our family was devastated to learn that my wonderful father, Joe Hough, had a severe fall and was being airlifted here to the Upstate Trauma unit. Those who know my dad know that he is happiest when he’s busy. If he isn’t substitute teaching at Watertown High, then he’s busy drawing or making plans to go have fun with my mom and our family.

It is a miracle he is with us today, but my dad did not survive the fall unscathed and life is going to be very different for the foreseeable future. He has suffered severe injuries, including: 3 spinal fractures, a broken sternum, and a broken foot. The spinal injuries led to him needing a spinal surgery, and while you never want anyone to have major surgery- this was the right choice and we are SO grateful to the surgeons and medical staff who literally saved his life and have kept his ability to walk and move his arms intact.

We aren’t the types to ask for much, but this event means that my father is out of work. With that in mind, we wanted to start a little go fund me to help cover some expenses for him and my mom during this difficult time.
