This sweet family needs our help. Joe Frank McKee is a fierce potter, father, husband, teacher and friend. For the past month, he has been experiencing severe heart and neurological issues. Though Joe Frank has been struggling with fatigue and balance for some time, it took a scary turn when he passed out in his studio in late May.

The episode lead to his heart stopping and an ambulance ride to their local emergency room. He was sent home that day while still experiencing concerning symptoms, as the scans and tests done could not determine a diagnosis. The McKees immediately sought out follow up care, but before he could make it to cardiology or neurology, another ambulance ride was necessary, this time thankfully to Mission hospital in Asheville and a pacemaker was put in the next day. In the heat of an artist's busy season, he has missed out on shows and fallen behind on orders. Anyone who works for themselves can understand how we never actually catch up when we fall behind. His loving wife Kelly has missed work during this time and has been unable to assist Joe Frank in the studio. We expect Joe Frank to improve, however any stress we can take off their shoulders will help both his health and to get him back to the studio.
