Joe Fisher & family
Joe, 36 years old, is a strapping young lad who has a beautiful wife and a precious 10 year old girl. He has been working as a loader at McLane in Northfield, MN for around 5 years. This year he decided it was time for a new adventure. Joe started his journey to become a truck driver for the company. He was ecstatic how life was going and he studied hard to pass the permit exams. He did fantastic and we were all so proud of him! It was the next step that required a physical be conducted and a clean bill of health provided.
Joe was born with a heart murmur and it had never been an issue. A series of tests needed to be completed in order to rule out any dangers for his CDL (commercial driver's license). It was then that Joe and his family's world would come to a screeching halt.
The tests reveled an "Aortic Aneurysm" along with other complications due to the dysfunction of his heart. In layman's terms , the artery that provides blood to the rest of his body has a balloon ready to pop at any given time. The diameter of Joe's aorta is nearly double the size it should be. The condition his heart is in allows for no chance of resuscitation if it ruptures. Joe is scheduled for open heart surgery at Mayo in Rochester on August 5, 2021.
THERE IS GOOD NEWS! Because of Joe's desire to become a driver for McLane, the medical professionals know about his condition and have developed a game plan. The condition in which Joe has could have left him any where at any time for any reason gone from us all without any warning. We are so grateful to all be on the same page and send good vibes and prayers to Joe. Joe is the nicest guy you'd ever meet and loves his family dearly. He is the neighbor that would help without being asked, the gentleman to hold the door, and the whipper-snapper to help an elderly woman carry her groceries. He may have a bad "ticker" but he has the healthiest heart of any man I know.
I am putting together this fundraiser to help alleviate any financial burdens I can. Joe has a long road to recovery because HE IS GOING TO MAKE IT OUT LIKE A CHAMP! As you can imagine, his wife and daughter are under immense stress and even just a few extra dollars could help them out. Joe was the main provider for the family and with all that is instore, money will quickly become a burden. I hope to raise money for them to help with transportation and any basic living necessities.
Please keep the Fishers in your hearts and prayers. They need all the love and support they can get.
