Dear Family and Friends,
My dad was diagnosed with stomach cancer back in May 2016 and since then, after months of treating his body like a piece of meat, his doctors in Canada have unsuccessfully tried to remove his stomach. Joe is a beloved grandfather of 5, ranging from 5-15 years old. He has 2 daughters and a wife who are fighting to give him hope. He had just decided to retire after working over 52 years here in Canada, when he was given a grim prognosis of stage 4 cancer. The doctors in Canada have told us that his type of cancer is incurable and that there is not much that they can do for him.
Through months of research and persistance we thankfully discovered a clinic in Germany, that has successfully given hope to stage 4 cancer patients. This clinic administers chemotherapy directly to the affected areas. It is a legitimate and well respected clinic with world class doctors, where we collectively decided to send my dad for treatement. Unfortunately, this is a very expensive treatment that the Canadian government will not fund. Doctors here have now even refused to see my dad, which makes this process even more difficult.
Treatment in Germany appears to be going very well and doctors there are optimistic. He is currently in Germany undergoing another treatment and the bills keep adding up. We pray for your assistance to help us continue this journey to health and maybe even give hope to so many stage 4 cancer patients that are given little hope here in Canada. Please give my dad a fighting chance!
