Thank you for visiting our GoFundMe page. We are the Blevins Sisters and are reaching out to you today with a humble request for your support in securing the legal representation needed for a crucial issue that our father, Joe E. Blevins Jr., and Ronnie Kennedy are facing.

Many of you know Joe E. Blevins Jr.. He was a county commissioner for over 8 years in Marion County. Growing up in Marion County played a big role in his reason for public service. He has gone above and beyond to listen to his constituents. He is also a father of 5 with 12 grandchildren. He stepped down from his role to spend more time with his family.

Recently, at a county commissioner meeting, information was divulged about the old mines on Aetna Mountain by Ronnie Kennedy who lives at the bottom of the mountain, and other citizens also told their stories of playing in the mines and warming their hands by the openings from a coal seam fire. Then an article with more facts and pictures of the maps was published by Nashvillescene.com.

Our dad posted the article and shared his opinion. He believes that if you are buying property on the mountain, then the information of the mines should be disclosed to buyers. Now, he is being sued by the developer for sharing factual information via Facebook, which is a public platform to share your opinions and factual information. Most people are worried about speaking the truth because of their fear of retribution.

We are here to ask for your help to support Joe E. Blevins Jr. and the other defendant, Ronnie Kennedy, take on the giant developer. Now, They must retain legal representation to defend themselves. All funds raised will be given for a retainer and to help both defendants defend themselves.
