Our friend Joe Cutbirth was in a serious accident last month. He was in Seton Hospital Trauma unit in Austin for four days. He is home now with three broken ribs and his right shoulder is fractured in three places.
Unfortunately, Joe is an older guy who lives alone. He has no immediate family (partner, parents, siblings or children) to help or check in on him.
He is resting alone through December and scheduled to begin extensive physical therapy after Jan. 1. He is incapacitated with no use of his right arm, and there is no insurance coverage for home assistance with this injury. He has to surrender his dog Mack to foster care/boarding for four to six weeks.
We are hoping to raise $5,000 to help with home assistance two days a week for four to six weeks, and to offset expenses, deductibles and co-pays already incurred for EMS, 911 ambulance, trauma triage, 4 days round the clock care in Seton trauma unit, transportation for upcoming orthopedic care, and home medical equipment also not covered by insurance.
Joe’s arm injury makes texting and email extremely difficult and painful. Any donation will be helpful and greatly appreciated. Anonymous donations are welcome.
