Hi, I'm at a loss for words and don't know where to begin. I am Monique, the oldest of 3 siblings, daughter of Joe Cuellar. At age 65, my father was taken too soon on 9/21, Sunday.
My father loved horses and had big dreams that we would be able to buy a ranch and have trailers where we could all be together. He was a veteran of the United States Marines and a member of Calvary Christian Church. He had many grandkids just starting their lives. My grandma is still here with us in her 90s, and this is a very difficult time for her. My dad had a fall on 9/3 and was taken to the ER with a bump on the back of his head. The ER advised us to follow up with his PCP. The follow-up came over a week later, and my dad was informed to go to the ER. He ended up in the emergency room with the bump on the back of his head, which had grown to half the size of a football and was now infected. The hospital discharged him the same day with glucose at 519, drained the cyst that had grown, and said to return tomorrow to the emergency room for reevaluation.
My dad went home. At 5:06 am, my brother went to wake him up and found my dad in bed unresponsive.
