Joe Crosse died suddenly in July 2025 following a tragic accident leaving behind his beloved wife Brid and two young children Teagan and Odhran.
Joe was known for his tireless work ethic as a member of Ennistymon Fire Service, his mentorship of new recruits and his infectious positivity. He brought joy to every shift and was admired not only for his bravery but also for his boundless generosity and unwavering community spirit.
Beyond the fire service, Joe was a beloved GAA coach, a skilled tradesman, and a passionate fundraiser. His extraordinary efforts included running 100 miles in 21 hours and completing 52 marathons in a single year in support of the LauraLynn Foundation.
Always smiling and ready for a chat, Joe embodied the very best of what it means to serve others. He was a true volunteer, a pillar of his community, and a cherished friend to many. His funeral was a testament to the lives he touched, drawing large crowds and heartfelt tributes. Guards of honour were formed by Emergency Service colleagues and the young GAA players he had coached.
Joe Crosse will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of service, kindness and courage will live on in the hearts of his family, friends and community.
In an effort to support his young family, the community have come together to set up this GoFundMe page. To raise funds, Joe's siblings Tricia and Thomas, along with his brother and sister-in-law Benny and Paula will be completing a sky dive in his memory on Sunday the 5th of October. This has the full endorsement of Ennistymon GAA Football Club, the local Fire Service, Riverside Cycling Club that Joe was a member of and many other sporting and community groups.
All donations will go to his beautiful family to support them in the future following this tragic accident.
