On August 1st we lost a great man and even greater friend, Joe Collins.
As many of you know, the last few years of Joe's life were filled with expenses that came at a time when he was no longer able to work. At the time of Joe's death there was nothing left. Joe's siblings, Terri and Jim, have arranged a memorial mass, celebration of life and burial for their brother, but paying for these events is putting a strain on their families.
If we, the many who loved Joe, would step forward with donations to help cover these expenses, we think Joe would be grateful and humbled.
The costs are expected to run about $3000. If any excess is raised the family will donate it to a scholarship program in Joe's name. They are looking into this with Joe's alma mater, St. Xavier.
The full amount donated, after the gofundme and credit card fees, will be given to Joe's sister Terri for disbursal.
