Thanks to your generosity, Joe was able to have the surgery! His procedure was a success and he is now home recovering. We are not accepting any more donations at this time, but may reopen the campaign in the future if Joe receives some unexpected medical bills.

We ask for your help today to support our Hockey brother Joe Choi. Joe is a veteran of Houston's Hockey Community and has led "The Shooters" at Memorial City on Saturday nights for almost 20 years. Recently, Joe has taken his experience on the ice and join the ranks of Referee.
Unfortunately, a couple Saturday's ago Joe was hit in the face with a puck. The faceoff took place in the defensive zone, the puck was thrown to the corner and the defender, under pressure, attempted to shoot the puck out of the zone and instead it hit Joe in the face, breaking several bones.
To make matters worse, Joe does not have health insurance to cover the cost of the surgery. So we are reaching out to our hockey siblings to help offset the cost of his surgery. With your support, we hope to cover his entire surgery. The reality is, without our support, Joe faces an uphill financial battle and will likely be saddled with a pile of debt he does not deserve. We understand the out of pocket cost will be at least $19,000!
Joe is a great guy, he always has a smile on his face, and is pleasant to talk to. Despite the physical pain we know he is feeling, he has responded to every email with a positive tone, but that's Joe.
