As you may have heard, right at the start of his Junior year at Walled Lake Central High School, Joe Burr was diagnosed with leukemia.
He is currently undergoing chemotherapy to fend off acute lymphoblastic leukemia, or ALL.
ALL is the most common childhood cancer and it occurs when a bone marrow cell develops errors in its DNA.
Joe is a fabulous student, a gifted athlete and a loyal friend. We all know him as the kid with a massive smile and a generous heart.
He and his family are naturally proud, private and independent people but under these difficult circumstances...they need our help!
