Joe Berry needs our help.

We need your help for an ill father of 5. My best friend Joe has lived in a small village called Mount Temple all his life. Joe is a struggling father of 5 children who he treats as his entire world.

Recently, Joe has suffered a difficult marriage breakup and now provides for all of his children. But this isn’t about that. On the 25th of January 2022, Joe was admitted to Tullamore hospital. Joe was told if he did not enter the hospital when he did, he would not be alive due to extreme heart failure.

As a 48-year-old, young, loving father, known by absolutely everyone in his area and the wider community for his caring, giving, selfless ways, his world came crashing down. Joe was told his heart is functioning at 15% with his heart rate more than double that of an average person.

As a single parent, Joe now has the unruly worry of impending hospital appointments, how he’s going to afford to look after his children and keep a roof over their heads, on top of staying stable enough to see tomorrow.

Joe is the carer for the 9-year-old autistic son along with having all of his children under his care at home. He has 3 daughters and 2 sons and has done nothing but look after them their entire lives. His relationship with them is one of the most beautiful things in this world. Not to mention the care he has given to his 80-year-old mother who misses him so dearly.

Now it's my turn to look after joe like he has done for so many. When joe leaves the hospital, he will stay on the list for a new heart. He will have continuous appointments, medication and a tough road ahead.

Joe did not come from money and as a stay at home father and carer, you can only imagine the financial struggle he faces on a day-to-day basis. What I’m asking for here is any donation you can give to speed up Joe’s chances of survival and getting the proper care he needs, even the littlest thing such as a share of this fundraiser could change his life forever so he can continue to stay well for his children.

All he wants in this world is to see them grow up and provide for them in every way they need. Watching him struggle everyday has been one of the hardest things to see, he deserves the world and more and I hope through his moving story and incredibly deserving nature, we can raise enough to take away some of his worry so he can focus on living a free and healthy life.

It's unfortunate how much money life costs to live these days and I hope you too can see that this single father needs your help.

Please keep Joe in your thoughts and prayers at this time if you can. Joe never asks for help, tries to take on the world for others, but I hope I can give my best friend the life he deserves. I would also like to encourage everyone to become an organ doner ( if you are so comfortable to do so) as they could change someone’s world forever when your gone, more than you could ever know.
