Joe Baker’s Beat Cancer Fund
Donation protected
We are the Bakers a blended family of 5. Recently the hard working main man of our family, Joe, has been diagnosed with a neuroendocrine carcinoma on his pancreas. In mid-October he became very jaundice and after numerous scans and hospital visit this tumor was discovered.
He has had to have stents placed in his biliary and pancreatic ducts because the tumor is pressing on them. The tumor is also invading his portal vein which has rendered in inoperable at this time.
He has never had to go the doctor and has lived a healthy life the past 41 years. Now he is facing chemotherapy and radiation to shrink the tumor so it can be operated on as well as more expensive scans to see if this cancer has spread. The operation has to take place in a big city with a surgeon with the knowledge and precision to get it removed safely. This will require an extensive amount of travel in our future.
This is going to become the biggest financial burden we have ever had to face since becoming a family. Many people have sent prayers and have been very supportive and offered help with the kids, animals, places to stay, etc which we greatly appreciate. We do have insurance but as most know that doesn’t cover everything. The biggest help we could ask for at this time is financially. Funds will be used exclusively for out of pocket medical costs and travel. We appreciate everyone helping us through this.
