The Asmus family has been undergoing very trying times as of late. While still mourning the loss of their son, Joe  developed an infection in his left foot.  After months of treatment, scary hospital stays, and no improvement,  doctors had no choice but to amputate  his foot. 

Joe  is a self-employed surveyor.
