Joe and Sam-To their bright future
Donation protected
I would like to tell you the story of Sam.

As a young adult, she was diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Sam spent over two years fighting ALL .
In 2016, Sam graduated from massage therapy school and became a licensed massage therapist. Got engaged to Joe. Moved to Pennsylvania to be with him while he completed his graduate program at Penn State, and was declared to be five years cancer free in October.
In Jan. of 2017, ALL once again made it's presence known in Sam's body.
Here is a brief synopsis of Sam's battle thus far:
Jan 2. Admitted to hospital in Hershey, PA
Jan. 3-Diagnosed with recurring ALL. High fever.
Jan 6th-Flown to Denver to begin treatment at Presbyterian / St. Luke's hospital in Denver.
Jan 7th-placed in Oncology ICU
Jan 9th-Chest x-ray reveals spot in lower left lobe of right lung. Infectious Disease Specialist consulted.
Jan 10th-biopsy on lung. Inconclusive
Jan11th-Surgial lung biopsy. Blood vessel nicked. Intubated and put on ventalator. BP and heartrate not stable.
Jan 12th. Additional blood transfusions (about 9 up to this date) and chemo begins
Jan 13-counts and numbers begin to rise. Chemo and blood transfusions continue
Jan 25th-Sam is released from the hospital.
Sam continues to go to Denver 3 days a week: M / W / F. One these days she received platlets, chemo shots, IV chemo, and every 11 days a spinal tap to adminster chemotherapy into her spinal fluid to keep the leukemia out of her spinal flued.
Sam's sister and brother are both matching donors for a stem cell / bone marrow transplant, which will take place as soon as her leukemia is in remission. WHEN this works, she should never have to face the prospect of ALL again. EVER.
Sam is optimistic, encouraging, inspiring and motivated to beat ALL again.
Please help us (all her family) help her beat this once and for all.
