On Sunday, January 31, April and Joe Sesi were in a serious car accident near their home on the way to hockey with their son, Joey. We are thankful to say that while Joey was held for concussion protocol, he was released with only some bumps and bruises.
Both April and Joe are currently at Royal Oak Beaumont in the ICU.
April experienced a spinal cord injury, and after emergency spinal surgery doctors are feeling positive about her prognosis. She is awake and conscious, and is slowly regaining feeling and movement.
Joe suffered the brunt of the accident, and was put into a medically induced coma. Joe is still unconscious and his medical team is working around the clock to help him regain consciousness.
At the moment, we do not know the long term prognosis or the length of recovery that will be needed, but they will ultimately have many bills and expenses due to the accident. This fund will help alleviate any additional stress and pressures for the family.
Loni Soulliere (co-worker and friend of Joe) will be providing all updates regarding April and Joe’s recovery via the GoFundMe page. Additionally, she will be setting up a meal service for the family during this time. You can reach her via the contact on GoFundMe regarding any questions or participation for the meal services.
The entire Sesi family (their four children, parents and siblings) are thankful that they have so many wonderful people in their lives to help support them during this trying time. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you.
