Jodi and Julie represent so much of what is good in the world.   You would not find 2 more caring hearts, and as we watched them marry in September of 2019, we knew we were seeing what true love looks like.

Just over a year later, on November 23rd while walking near their home in Sun Prairie, they were struck by a vehicle in a senseless accident.   In one shattering moment, Julie lost her life and Jodi suffered severe life threatening injuries.   The injuries are requiring multiple surgeries and it will be  along road to physical recovery.     The heartbreak of losing Julie will  be life-long for Jodi,  Julie's 2 children, their families and many friends.

My husband Chris met Jodi through boxing, and she became family.   When Julie came into Jodi's life, she became family too.     He was honored when Jodi asked him to "corner her" along with Coach Jerome for her matches, which she loved to do for a charity that meant a lot to her.      

Until all the information surrounding the incident is released, we will say that many people know Jodi through her work in the community, as a boxing instructor, and a loving friend. 

They are dear friends to so many people.    We started this gofundme as a team because so many want to help Jodi and Julie's family begin healing  without shouldering the reality of financial burden that accompanies this type of tragedy.
