We've made it to December! With your help, we have managed to help sustain life and hope for thousands of people. As the hurricane shelters begin to close and schools and workplaces begin to reopen, we have adapted our focus to the new needs that are arising.
The people of Western Jamaica are now in need of grooming supplies to help them return to school and the workforce. Basic necessities such as shampoo and deodorant are currently a luxury. Our next round of care packages will include these items. We need your help to make it happen.
Our next very ambitious area of focus will be to help 1-3 families build a starter home - a small home that will provide shelter and withstand future high magnitude storms.
How Your Funds Will Be Used:
One grooming care package costs $50 USD
One starter home costs $3,000-$5,000 USD
Our goal is at least 100-200 care packages and as many homes as we can afford to build. We have the teams on the ground ready to begin building for the families we choose, and I am in the US acquiring items for the grooming care packages.
Please help us by donating to this gofundme. You can also help us adopt and sponsor families and keep building homes for the foreseeable future. This effort will take all of us and will take a very long time. Despite this, we are proof that every little bit helps and that as long as we have the will to make change, we will continue to make improvements to the livelihoods of the survivors every day.
