Jodie Starnes

Hello all, my name is Karie Landry. I am trying to help a good friend of mine with her medical bills and living expenses. Jodie was at work on October 14th and blacked out. She was brought to SETX Medical Center by ambulance. After numerous tests and lots of blood work, it has been determined that Jodie's kidneys are failing her due to unknown causes. The hospital has also determined that she has congestive heart failure and only has 35% usage of her heart and only 15% of her kidneys. She now has to have dialysis 3 times a week. Each of these treatments take anywhere from 3 to 6 hours each day. She is still in the hospital at this time but is hoping to be released sometime next week, depending on the outcome of her upcoming heart tests. She started her first dialysis treatment today. Jodie will not be able to go back to work for an unknown amount of time, if ever. She has applied for disability and for medicaid but it takes sometimes up to 8 weeks or longer. Unfortunately, she will end up loosing her apartment and car if she has to wait on any funds from disability. This would not be a workers comp claim even though she was at work due to it apparently is preexisting.
