In February 2025, our beloved mother and wife Jodie went to the doctors after experiencing being quite unwell not thinking we were going to get the shocking news we received. The results were extremely devastating, we were instantly told our Mum/wife had terminal cancer starting in her gallbladder in which was extremely aggressive and had already spread and then we got told they couldn’t operate. All of our life’s instantly changed and from then she was no longer able to work and day to day routine and life become harder and harder.
The doctors had given two options: three months to live without treatment or the potential of up to 12 months to live with treatment. Without hesitation, she chose treatment so she could have more precious time with her daughter Abbey, son Saxon, and husband Troy.
Despite her bravery, Jodie’s cancer spread rapidly and aggressively to other parts of her body. During this time, the family’s well known Gold Coast butchery, Saville’s, closed down. This meant Troy, Abbey, and Saxon all lost their jobs which was a difficult change, but one that allowed them to be home, supporting and spending time with Jodie.
Not long after, complications forced Jodie to stop treatment, and the cancer became even more aggressive taking over everything . She spent her final two weeks in palliative care, openly expressing her wish for the pain to be over. On Friday the 8th of August 2025, sadly our beautiful beloved Mum/Wife passed away, just six months after her diagnosis.
Jodie was the rock of the family. She held everyone together, hosted events to extraordinary standards, and was a pillar of support not only for her loved ones, but for everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. With her cheeky jokes and warm presence, she could always put a smile on someone’s face. She will be dearly missed.
Now, our family faces not only the heartbreak of losing her, but also financial hardship, with a mortgage, bills, and the costs of her memorial and final wishes.
Myself Abbey has moved back home to help support the family, but the emotional and financial weight is extremely heavy.
We are asking our community to help in only the slightest way. We can’t express how thankful and grateful we are for the support .
No family should have to endure both heartbreak and hardship after such fast devastating loss. Your support, whether through donations or sharing this page it will help ease the financial burden and allow us to grieve as a family and built strength to overcome this terrible outcome.
without the constant added worry.
