Jodi Wong is a hard working wife and mother who has been battling a rare lung disease called pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) for over 6 years!

PAH has caused her indescribable amounts of pain and hardship over the years. As time passed, Jodi began to struggle to walk even short distances without having to catch her breath and take a break, but she continued to push through because she wanted to play an active role in her daughters’ lives as well as the lives of her nieces and nephews. She never let pain or discomfort keep her from being an amazing wife, mom, or aunt.

Recently, Jodi’s health took a turn for the worst when she was home with her daughters and suddenly collapsed, unconscious, on the floor. That’s when things really started to get bad. Jodi had to quit work because of a major concussion, brain bleeding, and being forced on oxygen because of the strain on her body. She became so weak the doctors explained to her and her family that she would need a lung transplant soon because her body was slowly losing its ability to fight the piling issues.

That’s when a miracle occurred! Jodi found a donor! You can imagine the excitement she, her husband, and 2 young daughters felt when they heard the news! It looked like things were finally going to get better for their wife and mother! Jodi had the surgery at the beginning of 2021, and although the surgery was successful, other issues began popping up. 

Right now, Jodi is completely completely reliant on machines supporting her. The doctors and nurses are working around the clock to make sure she is getting the best care possible to help her recover.

Because the lung transplant surgery is so invasive, the procedure was very long and intense. Jodi has a long recovery road ahead of her, and as she is recovering in the hospital for the next 3-4 months, the medical expenses continue to pile up. The surgery alone was over $700,000!!! And now, the hospital fees continue to flood in as complications arise and days at the hospital continuing adding up. Insurance only covers so much, and Jodi’s husband is working as hard as he can to cover their monthly bills and hospital bills all while being a single dad as Jodi recovers in the hospital!
