Jodi Holter Medical & Other Expenses
Donation protected
Jodi was admitted into Welia Hospital Christmas night after she passed out from no oxygen due to Covid. She was then transferred by ambulance to Staples Hospital where she was put on a BYPAP machine and struggled to recover for the next 21 days. Things continued to get more serious, she developed blood clots in both of her lower lungs and in her heart and her need for oxygen continued to increase. On January 12th, she was transferred by helicopter to Abbot Northwestern Hospital and put in a coma and on a ventilator. Jodi remains in a coma at Abbot with various setbacks and steps forward. This week their goal is to start taking her out of sedation to see if her lungs will start working again. Jodi has a very long road of recovery ahead of her, but she is a fighter and determined to get better and beat this. Jodi is one of the most gracious and compassionate people I know, she is always looking for ways to bless others and it is our turn to bless her. There is no obligation to give financially, we just ask that you continue praying for Jodi through these times and appreciate, so very much, any donations and prayers!
Update: They have been taking Jodi off the sedation completely this last week but unfortunately, she is not waking up like they would like, they call it critical ill delirium, it happens sometimes to critically ill patients. They typically come out of it over time by hearing familiar voices, so we have been doing zooms several times a day to talk to her to help her wake up. The good news is she did wake up briefly and respond to commands from the doctor yesterday (1/30) and the brain waves are showing that there are no seizures. She did spike another fever and they have not been able to find the cause for it, they continue to switch more of her medications just in case that is causing the fevers but for now they are able to manage them. They tried this morning to do breathing exercises with her and it didn't go as planned, they are going to continue trying. She has a tracheostomy scheduled for Tuesday (2/1) that is supposed to be the next step in her treatment recovery plan. Please keep the prayers coming and pray that she wakes up and comes to soon.
