Jodi Bergstrom Medical Expenses

I have worked with Jodi at Eggers/VT Industries for 20+ years. It saddens me that she has to go through Gluconoma. The least I can do is to help her recover from being off work for 5 months, as well as help cover the Medical Expenses she has amassed so far, as well as many more to come. Here is her story...

2013 Jodi had Burning Mouth Syndrome. This went on for 6 years, with no real clue what it was.

2018 Irritation, inflammation, redness, peeling of skin around backside. Developed cracks in corner of mouth.

She saw a Dermatologist for these symptoms, but he never figured out the underlying conditions causing them. She also began to lose significant weight.

2020 She started seeing a Hematologist to see if testing her blood would find something causing the symptoms.

2023 Jodi started getting bad leg rashes and blisters. She had bumpy itchy skin on most of her body. She saw her Dermatologist for 6 months and got nowhere. She went to a different one (Dr. McDonald of Fox Valley Dermatology in Oshkosh). He ended up testing Glucogon levels, which ended up being really high. Jodi then saw an Endocrinologist, who said she had Glucogonoma (Tumor on the Pancreas). 1 in 20 million get it. In Jodi's case, it also spread to her liver (Neuroendocrine Tumor).

After multiple different scans, biopsies, and blood tests, she finally had a diagnosis. She began undergoing Chemotherapy (Pill form), with a hopeful surgery to follow in 2024. She will continue receiving Lanreotide injections once a month to alleviate her symptoms. This has also allowed her to regain her appetite. She will go back to work on 12/19/23, but will be restricted to part-time, due to continued numbness in her legs.

Lets hope things continue trending in this positive direction, and that surgery can and will happen in 2024, to get Jodi fully back to normal!
