Jodi and Matthew Rivera Memorial Scholarship Fund

We are absolutely devastated by the passing of both Jodi and Matthew Rivera early Sunday morning, June 21st. We have set up this memorial fund to help ease the costs of funeral services for two beautiful people who were taken far too soon and most importantly to set up a scholarship fund to honor these two angles to continue their legacy of selflessness and excellence.
Jodi, 56, a loving mother of three boys and the whole community. She entranced and touched each and every person she came across. Just about everyone who meet her has had a hot meal at her home and left calling her momma Jodi. She is the most selfless woman I have ever known! She is also one of the toughest you'll ever meet. Although Jodi was a local real estate agent (which was her passion); she was a woman devoted to God and her family, who did everything for her kids (we mean everything). Even when she new they were wrong, she fought for her kids like no other. She is a role model to what selfless human beings should be. She demanded greatness from us and would not lets us settle for nothing but the best.
Matthew, 21, was heading into his senior year at Southeastern University where he maintained a 4.0 average and worked on campus. He was in line to join the Air Force as an officer after his college graduation. Matthew was a 3-sport all star athlete at Pine Castle Christian Academy as well as valedictorian. He was devoted to his fitness, faith, video games and his love for his family. Matthew is known to his peers as an unique, intelligent, gentle, and loving young man. The the greatest characteristic he took from my mother was the ability to be selfless and compassionate. He was always helping his family out of each and every situation they came across. Matthew's life was just getting started and the sky was not the limit.
For the fact that Matthew walked so bravely in excellence and grace; these are the incredible reasons we want to continue his life of excellence and selflessness by starting a college scholarship in his honor. Bye helping other young adults reach their goals and greatness, we can continue to see a piece of Matthew Joseph Rivera in the world.
