Support for Jodee’s Journey

We’re reaching out with love and hope on behalf of our dear friend, Jodee,

a vibrant, kind-hearted soul and devoted mother of three amazing children who are her entire world.

Jodee has lived with epilepsy since childhood, quietly navigating its ups and downs. But in the past few years, her condition has become more severe and unpredictable. Last Saturday, Jodee was rushed to South Peninsula Hospital ER, where she was admitted to acute care for four nights. On Wednesday, she was airlifted to Central Peninsula Hospital for more advanced testing and monitoring, including an EEG and continued neurological care.

Right now, Jodee’s care team, along with her close friends and family, are doing everything they can to find the right specialists and long-term treatment options. But as many of us know, managing a complex neurological condition is both emotionally and financially overwhelming.

This fundraiser has been created to help lighten that load. Funds raised will go directly toward medical bills, appointment co-pays, travel expenses for specialist visits, and daily living costs for Jodee and her children as she focuses on recovery and stabilization and getting her into stable housing.

Why We’re Raising Funds

Jodee is currently applying for disability, but as many know, this is a slow and uncertain process. In the meantime, her condition prevents her from driving and severely limits her ability to work. She is doing her best but what she and her kids need most right now is a safe, stable home and the breathing room to focus on recovery and stability.

Why Now Matters

Jodee is incredibly fortunate to finally have a strong, coordinated support team of friends, family, and medical professionals rallying around her. After years of living with a condition that was under-managed and misunderstood, she’s now receiving the level of care she has needed for a long time!

but never had clear access to.

Because of this care network, Jodee is being monitored and treated in a comprehensive way that would have otherwise taken months of bouncing between specialist appointments, tests, and delays. Neurologists and other care providers are now coming to her, and she is finally getting the testing and answers she has long deserved.

Unfortunately, her care journey has been disrupted time and again—by frequent changes in providers, some of whom retired soon after beginning treatment with her; by her inability to drive; and by major life upheavals, including a divorce and three moves in the last year alone.

This is the first time in years that things are aligning to give Jodee a real path toward stability and healing.
