For 8 years Jockimo has had to compensate for missing his right front leg. Time has caught up to him. His left front elbow is full of arthritis but the big problem now is his back left leg. He has a cruciate ligament tear, equivalent to the ACL in human knees.
The surgeon believes that long term, a TPLO surgery will be the most stable for him. Afterward will be an incredibly difficult recovery period because this cannot get infected. Otherwise, the vet says "game over."
I am hoping to raise money to cover the pre-surgery visit, the surgery itself, and post-op follow up. If I can raise more, perhaps I can hire someone to help take him outside while I'm at work - he'll need to be carried with a harness and a sling.
Jockimo is my heart. Missing a front leg has never stopped him from trying to keep up with his brothers. Whether it was running, swimming, digging even. He is a beautiful howler and thinks every dog is his friend. But now he's suffering. I need to help to make it better.
And you can help! I appreciate any and all help you can give. Even if it is passing this on, wishing us well, saying a prayer, offering a blessing. And when I am in a position of financial largess, I will pay it forward to help someone else whose furry loved one needs help.
Thank you for your time!
