URGENT HELP NEEDED! Jobu Broke His Leg, Needs Immediate Surgery
My sweet Maltipoo, Jobu, my precious little dog son, and my best friend—needs immediate, life-saving surgery after a traumatic accident.
On December 9th 2025, Jobu was startled by another dog, causing him to unexpectedly leap from my arms, and suffered a severe break in his right femur (thigh bone). The veterinarian has confirmed he will not heal properly without immediate surgery.
This year has been incredibly tough for us. We recently lost his 13 year old Schnauzer brother, Quasimodo, and then having to rebuild our lives alone in a new, tiny apartment. Through my own struggles with depression and anxiety, Jobu has been my ROCK, companion, and protector. He is truly the reason I get up in the morning.
It rips my heart out to see this little 10-pound pup endure so much pain. As a single dog mom, I've used what small savings I had on diagnostics, but I do not have the thousands required for the upfront payment. I have pet insurance, but the costs are still far beyond my current means. I spent all day calling vets to lower cost options, and ultimately found a student vet able to do the surgery. Jobu deserves a pain-free life, and I am desperately asking for your help--every dollar brings him closer to healing, and will help cover the cost of his essential orthopedic surgery, follow-up care, and necessary medications.
How I will be using these donations:
Surgery: This is the biggest expense currently, and needs to be paid up front. The current range for estimated care cost is $5,385.03- $6915.36.
Consultations ($697.74): the fees for meeting with vets to discuss his options
Ubers: I don’t have a car, can't use public transit with him, and friends/family not always available at appointment times.
Future medical care: Jobu will need follow ups and pain medication to manage his healing.
Thank you for taking the time to read and for sharing my little Jobu's story. It is devastating to see him still try to bring me joy as he's going through pain, and I want to do whatever I can to help him.
