Job Loss Recovery: Need Support for Basic Needs
Donation protected
Hello everyone. My name is Preston Mitchell. I'm 30 years old, and nearly 9 months back, I lost my full-time job. In the interim: I have gone through a completed unemployment claim, quite a few GoFundMes previously, taking up a part-time position at a restaurant, contacted several local charities (which I'm continuing to do), have even applied for SNAP benefits, and have lost my vehicle.
I lost so much sleep this past weekend trying to make sure this month's rent was paid, with my bank account going negative not once but twice this week. I visited the emergency room a few months back, after a major workplace anxiety episode, which I'm incurred even more medical debt from. I continue getting interviews, but I'm not sure how sustainable this job search can be as is.
At this point, my morale fluctuates from day to day as my job search has had multiple close calls - extending interviews between full-time and part-time opportunities - without receiving any offers. Bills are running high, my debts continue collecting interest, and I've been on the verge of losing my apartment often.
All this to say, as I'm on the search for a new full-time job, if there is anything you can do to support, it would be greatly appreciated. To those reading this who have already supported me in the past, please don't feel pressured to donate again.
If you can, however, please reshare this GoFundMe amongst your network.
