Joaquin "JR" Rodriguez “Oaxaca” Memorial Fund

Joaquin "JR" Rodriguez “Oaxaca” was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He leaves behind wife Pattie, daughter Korina, sons Erik and JakeRyan, and 5 grandchildren, with 1 grandbaby on the way. He was called Home on January 8, 2021.

JR was a devoted Catholic man and a doting husband and father. He was a believer in Bigfoot and a big Chargers fan, he enjoyed doing DIY projects around the house, watching college basketball games (Go Aztecs!), and visiting his family in San Diego where he is originally from. JR had a great sense of humor, and was always able to put a smile on your face. He brought plenty of laughs and great joy to the many lives he touched. JR had a very successful career as a Peace Officer with CDCR for 22 years. He was able to retire after a long career in 2018, ready to enjoy the rest of his life and spend his time doing the things he loves, with those he loves most. The possibilities were endless. Unfortunately, on December 31, 2019, their world came crashing down when JR found out he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was ready to have the fight of his life battling cancer. He kept his faith in God and knew whatever happened would be in God's Hands. He had been fighting hard, but as we all know, cancer is a terrible illness and it is with great sadness that his family announces JR lost his life.

We are all devastated by the loss of JR. As the family prepares for the funeral, your compassion and generosity through these trying times will mean everything to his grief stricken family. We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of JR's funeral. We would like to ease the burden of trying to come up with all the money upfront off his grieving wife. We would like to raise 10,000 to cover the costs and honor him with a beautiful celebration of life.

Please, if you find it in your hearts to donate,  any amount will truly be a gift to his family during this extremely difficult and painful time. If you would like to make a personal donation to the family and/or help out in any other way, please contact Korina Vasquez [phone redacted] or Erik Bojorquez [phone redacted].

May God Bless You All, Stay Safe.

Thank you.
