Joany Titherington needs our help -- now!
Donation protected
As many of you may have heard, Joany Titherington, former President of the Oak Park Neighborhood Association and the driving force behind the creation of the Oak Park Farmer’s Market in 2010 and, more recently, responsible for restarting the Oak Park Farmer’s market in the summer of 2023, has had a stroke. While she is stable, she will need many weeks of rehabilitation and care. And, to add to this challenge, Joany was the primary caregiver for her mother, Joan. We are reaching out to ask for your support to help Joany financially deal with being unable to work and unable to care for her mother.
For more than 30 years, Joany has given her time, her energy, and her considerable talents in getting the Oak Park Farmer’s Market going more than 12 years ago. And she did this, not for personal gain; rather she did this because she has been a lifelong resident and knows that this community has been and continues to be a food desert. And, she believes everyone should have access to fresh fruits, vegetables and all things that better resourced communities take for granted. The bottom line is that she has, unfailingly, given everything to this community — her time, her modest financial resources and herself — and she needs us now more than ever. Will you please give what you can and tell at least 10 of your friends about Joany and her commitment to Oak Park. Ask them to dig deep and give and to share this link with as many people as possible. We thank you on behalf of Joany….friends and family of Joany
