Joanne Brannigan's Medical Expenses

Dear Family & Friends,
As some of you may already know, my partner, Joanne Brannigan, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Although Joanne has little family left, she has you, her “extended” family. You all know what an enormous heart she has, and what a beautiful, loving and caring person she is. She is a true friend in every sense of the word.
Joanne was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma and had “breast conservation” surgery on May 16th. Thankfully, her prognosis is good. Part of her long-term treatment protocol (5-10 years) is taking daily hormone blockers. In addition, she receives radiation treatment 5 days a week for the next 7 weeks. We are so grateful to have discovered the cancer in the early stages, but being treated for cancer even while having health insurance is still very costly.
Joanne makes an hourly wage at the nursery while she is building her landscape design business. While not at the nursery, she is busy designing, researching plants for a design or physically working on an installation. She must take mornings off from work to go to treatment, which means additional time off from work. She has a continuing pile of medical bills on her desk. It is terrifying being diagnosed with cancer, but the aftermath is the stress of having to pay for it.
Joanne is not the type of person who asks for help, especially financially. However, many of you have asked us how you can help. Alleviating financial stress will be key for Joanne as she moves forward. I wanted to personally thank you for being there for her by regularly checking in and asking how you can help. She has some amazing friends and we appreciate all of your continued love, strength and support.
