Joanne was diagnosed with oligodendroglioma in 2015. Before her diagnosis, she spent 30 years teaching preschool students with disabilities in Jersey City. She loved every minute of being a teacher after a long journey with chemotherapy and radiation. Her condition was stable for some time, but in 2020, Joanne’s cancer began to progress. Since then, she has slowly lost her ability to drive and, ultimately, her ability to walk.
In the past few months, Joanne’s condition has deteriorated; she is wheelchair-bound now. Joanne has been receiving Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and Vitamin C infusions to improve her quality of life.
Recently, Joanne was accepted to the Burzynski Clinic in Houston, Texas, to receive targeted Antineoplastons IV treatments. This treatment is costly and not covered by insurance.
Joanne is the most selfless person you will ever meet. Despite her condition, she always has a smile on her face. Joanne loves spending time with her family and planning get-togethers. Any assistance you can give us in helping Joanne fight this fight will be greatly appreciated.
