First thanks for taking the time to read this - Jo Cox was taken from us suddenly and unexpectedly. The shock of her passing has rippled through everyone who knew her and through the wider community around her.
I’m setting this up on behalf of Jo’s daughter, who has been left with the heartbreaking responsibility of arranging her mum’s funeral. There was no financial provision in place, and the weight of these costs has landed at the same time as unimaginable grief.
Jo was a mum, a nan, a friend, and someone who truly mattered. She was part of a community for a long time, known to many, and cared about by more people than she probably ever realised. This loss isn’t held by one family alone — it’s felt by many.
Jo’s daughter is a mother herself, trying to keep life steady for her children while navigating loss she hasn’t yet had the space to process. Instead of being able to grieve fully, she’s having to deal with practical pressures that no one should face alone at a time like this.
This page is about community stepping in where it can. About people coming together, in whatever way they’re able, to help ease the load and show that Jo and her family are not facing this on their own.
There is absolutely no amount too small. Pennies, pounds, sharing this page, offering prizes, or business support — it all matters.
Right now, the aim is simply to get this up and see if a little help can go a long way. And it will.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for being part of that support during an incredibly difficult time.
