Joanna sing her heart out in New York and Spain

Hey all, it's Johann here. My little sister Joanna is part of the Miami Children's Chorus, a wonderful organization run by my dear friend Liana Salinas that provides children from all over Miami-Dade county the opportunity to share the beautiful powers of music by singing together, with and for our community, with world-renown artists, as well as travel around the world to showcase their talent while continuing their development as the future generations of our world. She is also a part of the Miami Arts Studio high-school choir and has the opportunity to travel to New York this year to sing at Carnegie hall and other places around the United States.

Lately it's been pretty tough with finances in my family, as it has been for many people I know as rent continues to increase, the cost of living in Miami is sky-high, and these opportunities become more and more difficult to finance. Joanna, my lovely 15-year old sister, is currently working at Publix, selling clothing and art pieces in order to help fundraise for her trips to sing and share her love for music with others in Miami and hopefully nationally and internationally.

Hey! My name is Joanna Mejia. I am in the Miami Children's Chorus and a sophomore at Miami Arts Studio. There are no words that can describe how passionate I am about music. This year I will have the opportunity to go to Kentucky and sing at the American Choral Directors Conference at a national level, be a part of the High School Florida All-State choir, and perform at Carnegie Hall. I am looking to raise between $2,000-$2,500 for my flight and expenses to New York City as well as help me finance my way to possibly sing in Spain with the Miami Children's Chorus at the end of the school year. As you may know, opportunities like this don't come every day, and when they arrive, they are expensive. My parents and I are trying our best to raise money and save up so I can be able to go to all these trips and gain new experiences. I would like to kindly ask if you could please support me.
