I am starting this campaign for my good friend Joanna and her boys, in hopes to help them out during a tough time. Joanna suffered an injury on the job in early March.  She continued to work  through her injury as long as she was able to until her Surgeon took her off of work entirely in June due to the severity of her injury and progression of her symptoms. She is waiting for her L&I claim to open and be processed. Her employer of 6 + years does not offer short term disability or FMLA and she has yet to receive any workers compensation for lost wages  from LNI at this time. Joanna is a single mother of two incredible boys, Christian and Kellen. With normal every day expenses, on top of back to school expenses rapidly approaching she is in dire need of any support during this very challenging time. Her surgery has not been able to be scheduled yet do to the technicalities of LNI’s process and their failure to schedule an IME in a timely fashion. She will undergo neck surgery within the next several weeks to months after the IME is completed on July 31st. These funds will be used to take care of her mortgage and other household expenses for Joanna, Christian and Kellen.  Joanna, as you all know, is one of the most genuine and goodhearted individuals i know! As utterly terrifying as the past few weeks have been, Joanna's strength and positive attitude through this incredibly trying time have proven unwavering, Her resilience and faith will undoubtedly pull her through this very challenging hardship. There is no definitive timetable for Joanna's progress since this injury is so complex and sensitive, but she is determined to remain in good spirits . We are all hoping and praying for her recovery!
