Joann Provost Needs Your Help!

Hi, my name is Judy and I am fundraising for my sister, Joann Provost. As many of you may know, she recently fell and dislocated and broke her ankle in several places. What you may not know is that she broke her only functioning leg. She has MS and her right leg has drop foot, meaning no crutches or walker—wheelchair only. This means she can’t do many things for herself, including driving. Adding to this burden is being sole caretaker of our mother, who doesn’t drive. She has at least $1,700 out of pocket insurance max, not including copays. She is paying $35/hr for someone to come and help her make meals, drive, and help with basic tasks, for around 12+ hours a week. And they can’t provide all the rides, so she will have to use Lyft to get them to their appointments. She’s having to have groceries delivered. And she will soon be having a second surgery, extending her healing timeline. Friends, neighbors, and family help, but can’t cover everything. So she is needing help to cover all the expenses that need to be hired out.

If you know Joann, you know she will do anything for anyone. She is a bit mortified that I’m doing this for her, and wouldn’t allow it if she didn’t absolutely need the help. She is on disability, and usually manages, but this event can’t be covered with her disability check.
