Help support Joann Ramos' fight against cancer.

In February my mom, Joann, started to experience back pain along with a persistent cough. In April, after nearly two months of x-rays, scans, and biopsies, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Small Cell Adenocarcinoma, a type of lung cancer. She has never smoked in her life or been around smokers, so her diagnosis was a devastating surprise to our family.

The primary tumor is in her right lung, but the cancer has also spread to her lymph nodes and bones. The cancer in her bones has caused a lot of pain. On May 22nd, she began her treatment by taking targeted therapy pills to slow down the growth of the cancer. She will also begin radiation treatment soon to reduce her pain. Joann has seen some improvement since beginning her treatment but has a long way left to go in getting better. We are praying that the pills will continue to work for a long time, and are trusting God with the outcome.

Between all of the testing, lab work, and treatments we are realizing the financial hardships that come along with the diagnosis. However, I know that there are many people connected in one way or another to our family who want to support my mom in her fight against cancer.
