I am currently a student at Brigham Young University-Idaho, and I am majoring in International Studies with a minor in Sociology.  My parents are my inspiration. They both came to the United States on their own to achieve the American dream. My parents both experienced their own kinds of adversity on their journey here, yet the blessings that came from them are innumerable. They are now United States citizens and have taught me and my brothers the true meaning of facing trials and adversities with dignity and pride. I will never have to face the things that my parents have, but I have learned so much from them.
My dream is to travel the world to assist those who are caught in the vicious web of human trafficking as well as to help educate women to be leaders in their communties. Although I am one person, I believe that even a drop in the ocean can make a difference. 
I have recently been selected to go to Nepal on a unpaid, volunteer, internship program through HELP international. One of my tasks will be to help children who have been rescued from human trafficking as well as teaching women's health classes to sex workers in Kathmandu. This program is a dream come true for me!
Words cannot begin to describe how grateful I would be if you could help in anyway to make this burning desire within me a reality. All funds will be used to cover the costs of all program fees. Like with my parents, although I will never experience the same things as the people of Nepal, there is so much that I need to learn from them.
