Hello again everyone!
We are delighted to be making a return journey to WYCE Gambia charity (Wonder Years Centre of Excellence) in the village Medina Salaam, The Gambia.
In February 2026, Stephen, Matt, Paul, Vanessa, Lucy, Baljit, Anne-Marie, Rachel and Elia will board a flight for Banjul, The Gambia. For some of the team visiting it will be their first visit and a completely new experience. For others it will be their fourth trip, returning to see familiar faces in what we have learned to call ‘our second home’.
Thank you to those of you who helped support our projects earlier this year (Feb 2025). Our primary project was a water project for a school serving over 1,000 students in Tumani Tenda. We re-roofed the local school in Madina Salaam allowing classes to continue during rainy season. Finally, we helped to extend the local women’s clinic.
For our upcoming visit in under 4 months time, we have been busy working with WYCE to assess viable projects in the area. We have decided to support another water project, bringing water to a school catering to 700 students in nearby village Sifoe at an approximate cost of €3,000.
Our second project will see us construct a shelter and supply a milling machine for the community of Sukuta village. This will help improve the economic wellbeing of women and children in the village and help to ensure food security. This project is expected to impact 2,500 people at a cost of €2,300.
We would greatly appreciate any contribution to help enrich the lives of those far far less fortunate than us. All money raised goes directly to the WYCE charity, which in turn is used very very productively.
Thank you so much,
JOAL x
