UPHELP!!! Jo's Mom is Forced to Move New Home NOW!

Donation protected

I was going to write this big thing, but Caitlin beat me to it, and, frankly, her words carry more weight than I could muster alone.  The kid works herself to death and has for years.  Here's her story:

"What lengths would you go to in order to ensure your child had a solid, sturdy roof over their head?

Right now, I’m finding out the answer for myself. I was offered the option to lease-purchase a recently rebuilt mobile home from family friends -- a solid, dependable structure that was pretty much remodeled from the ground up three years ago.

I’m a single mom. I work more jobs than I care to admit trying to make ends meet. I feel like I fall short in every way -- financially or otherwise. And I’ve been burning the candle at both ends trying to make life better for my child and give her a safe home. Love only goes so far in that regard.

Right now I’m living in a home that has holes in the floor, intermittent flooding from a failing, aging well tank system and a floor that’s threatening to collapse under the gas furnace and water heater.

I have been planning to move in for months now. I had a move-in date set. I gave notice at my current residence.

Due to a personality conflict with the management of the mobile home park it sits in, the home - what I now accept as OUR home - cannot stay where it is.

I have gone to the ends of my resources and back and reached out to the actual owner of the park, to receive no answer or verdict on whether his manager’s assessment stands. I have reached out to Legal Aid, who did not have a clue how to approach the situation. I have calls in to various law offices, but it would seem this time of year is a busy one for them.

Exploring all options, I started calling around to owners of other local mobile home parks. One fellow in particular was more than welcoming to the idea of us moving our new home onto his lot.

Unfortunately, the costs of moving a mobile home far exceed what I was prepared to pay to move. Obviously my planned move-in date will come and go, and I will be on a ticking clock as I try to vacate my current residence before my present landlord’s patience wears out.

I am seeking help to move the home from its current lot and re-establish it on the lot I was offered. I feel like I’m asking the world -- and perhaps I am -- but I owe no less than the world to my child, who deserves far better than I can ever give her - but I’m trying like hell. I just need some help."
