I’m reaching out on behalf of my parents to ask for help for their beloved dog, Jo Jo. He’s more than just a pet—he’s my dad’s best friend and loyal shadow. They go everywhere together. Jo Jo brings light and love into my parent's lives every single day, and right now, he needs us more than ever.

About a week ago, Jo Jo began showing signs of a urinary tract infection. After my mom noticed blood in his urine, the vet started treatment. But things quickly worsened and he began having trouble urinating and started passing large blood clots. We knew something wasn’t right so we scheduled an ultrasound to be done. Today, we received the news that Jo Jo has a mass on his right kidney that is bleeding and causing a large clot to form in his bladder. More tests are likely to follow, but there’s a strong possibility that the top choice of treatment will be to remove the right kidney which is a complex and expensive procedure.

So far, they have already paid close to $1000 in vet costs and now they are looking at another large bill that will be a huge burden on them financially. He has an appointment at the specialist on Tuesday where we will find out more information about the cost of things but based on what I am seeing they may be looking at $3000-5000. My goal is to help lighten the burden, even if it's just a little bit. The last thing I want is for them to have to choose between giving Jo Jo everything that he needs and deserves or not helping him at all due to the expense of treatment. My dad is like me and will break the bank if it means having his best friend by his side. This is why I am reaching out. My parents do so much for everyone else and never ask for anything in return. I am praying this reaches the right people that have been touched by my parents kindness and would be willing to show their gratefulness is the most meaningful way possible.
