JoJo's Tragedy Family Fund
Donation protected
On Friday, October 12, 2018 my son Joseph "JoJo" Bettencourt (24) was in a tragic skate boarding accident, he sustained traumatic brain injury, and had two emergency surgeries within 5 days, Joseph never regained consciousness. He was declared legally brain dead 8 days later on Saturday,October 20th at Reginal Memorial Hospital in San Jose. Joseph is a donor and on Monday, October 22nd, we were informed that a 15 year old girl living in the Bay Area was a perfect match to receive his heart and his liver. This brought peace and happiness to our family. Joseph leaves behind two small children, Marley, who's 8 years old and Baby JoJo who is 2 years old, also his girlfriend Monique of 9 years. We just celebrated both kids birthday's at Chuck E. Cheese the night before the accident. In an effort to help support Monique and the kid's during this difficult time, we ask that instead of sending flowers, you make a small donation that will help with living expenses and relocating Joseph's young family out here to the Bay Area. Knowing how much Joseph loved and cared for his children and Monique, he too would appreciate this. This will take a huge stress off of her and allow her and the babies their time to grieve for Joseph. Joseph is survived by many friends and family, including his Mom Sonia, his Dad's Sedrick & Joe, his older Brother Michael, his Brother Krishton, his little Sister's Reyna & Ayanna, his daughter Marley & son Joseph, his Grandparents Hilario, Fatima, Lola & Bill, and many many Aunts, Uncles & Cousin. We all love and miss him dearly. He was our light, the one that always had that big smile and made us laugh! Our Family has had an outpouring of support, condolences, messages, and love sent our way. We are grateful to be lifted up in this time of need. Please continue to check in for updates.
