Jo Jeffries - The New Album

This will be my first release as both writer and artist in over twenty years. It’s been a tough journey in the music business which I entered with starry eyes at just nineteen. But despite the tribulations of the business, the joy of making music will never subside. I’ve let the pain of the past keep me away for too long and now I finally feel ready to write and sing my own songs again. And hopefully I’ll be able to touch others with them too.

This time I have the pleasure of collaborating with songwriting royalty Boo Hewerdine (The Bible, Eddi Reader), stunning Americana artist/writer Jill Jackson, and the divine Jon Kelly (The Beatles, Kate Bush). So far the songs are beyond anything I have ever had the pleasure of contributing to.

I met Jon and Boo on song-writing retreats in Marrakech and on the remote Highland peninsula, Knoydart, and felt instant connections and respect. Collaboration on a new album project felt like a calling and together, along with the huge talent that is Jill (introduced by Boo), we are devoted to the creation of beautiful, timeless folk songs that speak to the soul.

Any help towards bringing these songs to life and to the world will help fulfil the dream. So I am appealing to friends, family and sponsors to donate to our fundraiser. We have set a target budget of £25k, which will help pay for everything from recording, production, studio time, session musicians, rehearsal space, mixing, mastering, marketing, distribution and the physical product itself.
