For the year of my 30th trip around the sun, I have made the huge decision to begin the journey towards gender affirming surgery.

With everything all booked in, between the surgery itself, required health insurance, psychiatric assessments and consult fees this undertaking will cost me around $38,000.

Unfortunately the rebates for all of this will equate to ~6% post procedure, almost all of the surgery will be out of pocket.

Whilst I have been working my butt off saving for this, by the time I would be able to save the total amount the prices will have risen.

As we can currently see politically, the legality of the existence of me and my community is changing for the worse around the world, so who knows how long this kind of procedure will be available...

I really hope that if you're reading this, I've provided something nice in your life. Whether that's a space to be yourself, an ear to talk to, a community to partake in or even just a laugh, and that you might have the means to help.

Please know that no contribution is too small and in this cost of living crisis even a share of this fundraiser is huge for me. (Maybe a good time to reconnect with that rich distant family member who said they want to make some reparations last holidays?)

Every bit counts, that said I am aiming to raise $25,000 to ensure that I don't need to take money from Super.
