It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that my mother Jo-Ann Thompson passed away unexpectedly on April 20, 2020.
If you knew her, you could recognize her laugh from across the room. She was filled with so much humor that would keep you laughing for days. She moved to Las Vegas to be close to her family after most of her life in Chicago. In Vegas is where she made many friends at River of Life Word Ministries and working at RTC Bus Company. Las Vegas is where she made her final home.
My mother really loved her family and friends and took those relationships seriously. You could catch her at any of her kids or grandkids sporting events and supporting her grandson Khai in whatever he is doing. She would be at every baby shower, family or church gathering, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren birthday parties. She would host Sunday dinners for family and friends and would make a dish for you at the drop of a dime.
Many may recall her in the stands shouting, “Put that defense on’em fellas” when my brother, Raymond Thompson was a basketball star in Chicago.
My mother was such a joy to be around no matter where she was or who was around her. She lived her life to the fullest, the way she chose and was unapologetic in doing so. You can go to any state and find people from places she visited that she has touched with her vibrant personality. My mom is no longer with us but definitely with her GOD in heaven and is in a better place where nothing but joyous times lies ahead. If you know my mom like I know many of you do she would want us to have a glass of wine or shot in celebration of her life and continue to keep our loves ones safe in this crazy time that we are living in.
I am now asking for assistance in ensuring her final home is in heavenly peace.
Thank you and God Bless you & your families
