Victim of moving fraud

My name is Gary Scherer and I am disabled. On November 12, 2021, we had movers come over to help us move our belongings to our new home in Minnesota. We contracted with a moving company (Gold Standard Moving and Storage). 

I advised them that I would be shipping some of my medical equipment  and needed to make sure it would be delivered within the 21 days listed on the contract.

 

Unbeknownst to me they put all of our belongings in a storage unit and left with our money. Gold Standard said they hired a subcontractor and could no longer reach them. After contacting several agencies, California Bureau of Household Goods and Services finally located our belongings.

 

Now I need to pay to get my belongings out of storage and hire a California Bureau approved shipping company to get our belongings and bring it to us.

 

I am in dire need of my medical equipment as soon as possible. Any help you can give us would be much appreciated.
