Hello, my name is Mohammed Nijim. I am a 38 year old Palestinian living in Gaza. My wife and I have two children, aged 12 and 8.

Our home, damaged by bombings, is uninhabitable, and my work was destroyed in violent attacks. Currently, my family and I are in a shelter lacking basic necessities and hygiene. Winter intensifies our struggle; we lack sufficient blankets, heating, and face challenges with cooking gas shortages.

Desperate, we resort to burning wood for cooking, emitting harmful fumes. Our children suffer, and the feeling of helplessness is heartbreaking. Losing safety, home, and basic rights is painful, turning our lives into a hellish ordeal.

My wife's parents reside in Spain, a place we've visited frequently. Now, seeking refuge, we aim to join them until the war ends. Your support is crucial to saving us from starvation and death.

We seek assistance for the following travel expenses:

- Visa application fees for 4 people

- Leaving Gaza to Egypt expenses ($7000 per person)

- 3-week stay in Cairo until our visa is issued

- Flight tickets for 4 from Cairo to Madrid

- Essential expenses during our stay in Spain: rent, health coverage, and living costs.

UPDATE MARCH 2026:

We would like to share an important update about our family. After two extremely difficult years of war in Gaza, during which we lost everything we owned, we were finally able to leave and begin rebuilding our lives in Spain.

We arrived with nothing—no belongings, no luggage, and no savings. Everything we had built over the years was lost because of the war. Today, we are starting completely from zero in a new country.

While we are deeply grateful to now be in a safer place, the road ahead remains very challenging. Our greatest concern is providing stability and hope for our children, who have endured so much over the past two years.
