Save Selma

Hi, my name is Joelle, and I created this fundraiser to help save Selma.

Early this morning, Selma was in an accident. Whether she was confused in the dark or slipped while running alongside the truck, we will never know. It pains us to state that she hit the truck and has sustained brain trauma, for which she is being stabilized in Bend at the Emergency Specialty Vet.

Selma is a special dog. She is tender and kind. She has soft eyes and carries herself with a sureness I have rarely experienced in a dog. Selma came to the United States after her owner in Germany passed away from complications due to a cancer diagnosis. She has only just started enjoying her second chance at life, and we are willing to fight to rehabilitate and grant her that privilege.

We recognize the implications of a truck injury. It is painful and weighs on us. It is hard to ask for help, but this dog's story is bigger than ours. She has lived a whole other existence overseas, and we were so proud and excited to give her an even brighter future here in the states.
