Hey Everyone!
I hope you are staying safe and doing well during these unprecedented times. At the young age of 19, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and I couldn’t believe it - in fact, I didn’t want to believe it. I was vibrant, energetic and ready to report to Marine Corps boot camp when my life was suddenly put on hold because of this diagnosis. For those of you that may not know, MS is a progressive disease involving damage to the nerve cells in the brain and throughout the spinal cord. Its symptoms may include numbness, impairment of speech, blurred vision, and a lack of muscular coordination, and severe fatigue; some of which I experience on a daily basis. For a long time, I lost confidence and never believed that I could achieve my goals - at one point, I was at rock bottom and lost all motivation. With the help and support of my friends, family and a desire to better myself, I decided to go back to school and completed my associate’s degree last year and I am currently attending school to obtain my Bachelor’s degree.
Recently while looking into new medical treatments which can help or "normalize" my everyday life, I came across a new device by a company named "Bioness." After looking deeper into this company and the device, I arranged an appointment and was able to give the device a "Bioness L300-Go" a try. Instantly, I was able to feel parts of my leg and I can’t remember the last time I felt that sensation. With each step, my confidence has increased and my hope for achieving 100 percent functionality continues to grow.
That said, I am currently unemployed due to the pandemic and I don’t have the means to afford this device. The device is overwhelmingly expensive and I’m hoping you can help me. I know there are many other people that are going through tough situations, but any donation amount counts towards achieving my goals, dreams and next steps. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and thank you in advance for your donations. I promise to keep you posted on my journey.
